In America many Capitalists are Christians who engage in business with integrity, honor, servanthood and even generosity. Without a biblical approach to business — like George Bailey had in IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE — you will see abuses. The answer is not Socialism, Communism or bigger government. It's revival. We need more businessmen intent on abiding by Christian principles.

Important Pieces of History
|
The more people get something free from the government, the less they do for themselves and become dependent on the government. Then the less free they become.

The main difference between capitalism (Conservatism) and socialism (Liberalism) is:
CAPITALISM WORKS!
And just WHY does Capitalism work?
Consider the former USSR that went 'belly-up' largely because their communist version of Socialism was a bloated bureaucracy that couldn't keep up ... kinda like a short 300 pound runner in a marathon.
Think of it this way: CAPITALISTS wait in line to pay for groceries. SOCIALISTS wait in line to see if there are ANY groceries. That was the result of advanced socialism (communism) in the former USSR. Literally!
The 'Spreading the wealth' concept will ultimately dishearten the productive members of society, robbing them of their incentive to work.
It reminds me of a George Bernard Shaw quote. "A government that robs Peter to pay Paul can always depend on the support of Paul."
The telling point is this: Socialists are group/herd animals. They seek security and the supposed protection afforded by similar others. They are usually found in academia where they seek tenured or other protected positions, trade unions that protect the lazy and inefficient amongst them and many levels of government employment. Funding for their lives is usually at taxpayer or coerced expense. How can the 'strike' weapon strategy used by unions NOT be considered extortion.

Now the liberal socialist mentality does have a propensity for immense caring ... somewhat like examining slowly diminishing concentric circles attempting to find the smallest piece that does not fit their utopian concept of how they view ideal living. And, if they find something out of place, they are quick to 'tag along' by organizing agitators to take up the mission to 'change' things. Of course many of them find a way to make a living from that activity. This usually involves seeking funds from the wealthy who all too often feel guilt and are happy to pay for their piece of mind.

On the other hand, Capitalists are individualists and risk takers ... the eagles. They generally have infinite confidence in their ability to strive and succeed. A great example are straight commission salespeople from whom one will often hear, "The world won't be right until EVERYONE is on straight commission." Meaning, of course, that every physically and mentally capable person should be paid based on their individual performance and contributions. A successful capitalist can become wealthy in his/her own right. The American Dream they call it!
Of course, Capitalists are not un-feeling people for it is their help that is sought by those with a 'cause'. Go figure!
Deprogramming a liberal.
Consider this definition from Wikipedia: "Deprogramming refers to actions that attempt to force a person to abandon allegiance to a religious, political, economic, or social group. Methods and practices typically involve violent kidnapping and coercion. Similar actions, when done without force, are called "exit counseling"."
Since this site is about the study of change, i. e., history, it is not within our purview to kidnap or coerce. It IS, however, our desire to communicate the differences that divide us in hopes of turning on the lights of common sense intellect that so few 'liberals' choose to employ. We seek to enlighten in hopes of encouraging all to understand the impact of knee-jerk reaction to the events that affect our lives fully understanding that trying to reason with a socialist leads to this:
"A Liberal is a person who will give away everything they don't own."

For those who slept through World History 101...... here is a condensed version. (Wink!)
Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.
The two most important events in all of history were:
1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer, and the beer to the man.
These facts formed the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals
2. Conservatives.
Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.
Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.
Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.
Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men.
Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy and group hugs, the evolution of the Hollywood actor, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide all the meat and beer that conservatives provided.
Over the years, Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass.
Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.
Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.
Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.
Here ends today's lesson in world history.......
It should be noted that a liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.
A conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers, and to more liberals...just to **** them off.
